I don’t know what your purpose of highlighting that article but to quote it:

“I listen to the people,” she said. “And the people said Mamdani.”

Allies and rivals alike credited Mr. Mamdani with making inroads among younger Black voters.

He made regular appearances on Black-focused media, including radio shows with large Black audiences like “The Breakfast Club” and “Ebro in the Morning.” His campaign also put out an advertisement with young, Black democratic socialists who said his commitment to affordability would make the city more livable for Black New Yorkers struggling to stay.

Some on the Cuomo team believe that in the end Mr. Mamdani may have actually topped the former governor among younger Black voters.

Patrick Gaspard, who is a distinguished senior fellow at the liberal Center for American Progress and served as an informal adviser to Mr. Mamdani, said Mr. Mamdani did well with the Black vote, considering his rivals: a former governor with deep ties to the community and multiple Black candidates.

^^^^^
This is something all of us Black New Yorkers knew already. The Black community is going through a generational divide. That’s not Mamdani fault at all.

The projection you attribute to me for merely posting an article signifies some real insecurities around you all that I seem to stir up. Maybe I am that powerful…

The only thing that should be taken away from the NYC race is Cuomo was a toxic candidate that almost anyone could beat right now.

There is no progressive movement taking over

i'm looking forward to the rollout of these government-run grocery stores :ehh:

all the efficiency and convenience of a trip to the DMV, combined with the accountability and motivation of union government workers. what could possibly go wrong? :lupe:
Buildings will be owned by the new york city council so not having to pay rent will keep prices low. Also pay will probably be 30 an hour, fair pay keeps people motivated.

It’s not the Democrats in general who should worry; rather it’s the ones too afraid to fight. Losing a House or Senate seat isn’t the end anymore. You can lobby, podcast, pundit. If you fight for real change and lose, you still win credibility. You become the voice of a cause.

But too many Dems are scared of people like Zohran Mamdani because they know they’re outdated. And once they're out, they’ll be irrelevant. No movement. No message. Just silence.

Hakeem Jeffries might’ve shined under Obama, but today? He’s a coward. A product of the old guard. Wouldn’t shock me if he gets primaried out of his own seat.
