i just hope progressives are ready for mamdani to put the entire movement on his back. he has no choice but to succeed :wow:

because if we start getting an uptick in homeless violence, businesses leaving, tax/cost of living increases, trans nonsense, the "government grocery store" doesn't work out, it's gonna be tough for the left to defend  he'll become a one-man republican campaign ad. in front of the entire country
In here lies your issue. For some reason, you allow Republican campaign ads to dictate your reality. So if they put out an ad saying Zohran is a Marxist Jihadi, you piss your pants. You were one-shotted by that "Kamala is for they/them" ad so now that's your entire political identity. You say if Zohran doesn't draw a royal flush then "it's gonna be tough for the left to defend", but defend from who? The party already saying Zohran should be deported for a rap lyric? And do you believe centrists ever have to defend their piss-poor record of not only failing to win campaigns recently but failing to deliver on making the lives of constituents better? If Andrew Cuomo won the primary, would you be saying centrist Libs better get ready to defend in case he doesn't deliver on every single one of his goals? You fundamentally accept a Republican worldview where they get to determine what is right and what is wrong. It's this p*ssy-ass behavior that has infected the entire Democratic Party leadership for too long.

Establishment crashing out over this L :laff: im not even huge on AOC but this is beyond disgusting

This is some of the most embarrassing shyt I have ever seen in my life. Like, this is worse than Jeb Bush's weird obsession with his dad during the 2016 primary. :mjlol:

2024 was tough for the Dems, almost impossible to defend post-covid inflation

but that wasn't fixable. when i call out progressives turning off voters with their weird garbage; that IS fixable. these morons on the far left are destroying the party's image with their constant crashing out over 80/20 issues

if trump has the economy doing well next year, i might have to rescind my prediction that dems take the house back
I don't get how the trans shyt is getting hung around the far lefts neck when it's been adopted by the party. Biden had the at least three genders gaffe not Bernie. If the bulk of the party is against it then the DNC should sack up and say fukk the trans folks. Otherwise people should shut the fukk about it cause it ain't going anywhere. They should also probably hammer out what their solution is for sports cause that's what they're taking L's on.

if trump has the economy doing well next year, i might have to rescind my prediction that dems take the house back. hell, i don't even know what i'd personally be voting for. rejecting trump? that ship has sailed. so with a fine economy, what do i need from the democrats?
I think if people felt their lives were better they'd care less about the "weird" (assume you're referring to trans) shyt. But when you're struggling it becomes a lot easier to get focused on grievance shyt that doesn't impact you in the grand scheme of things. Trump made a lot of bold statements about what he was going to do and that was probably more attractive to the folks that are dumb but not racist vs the sense of being condescended to by Dem establishment that things are good.

I'll never underestimate the Democrats ability to fumble what looks like an easy win. There's a way where the Dem establishment could have spun the Zohran shyt as a win for Democrats witjiut necessarily offering a full-throated endorsement (would have been hard to do with all the AIPAC dikk in there though) I think.

That's just not true. Her 2024 platform, on paper, was not to the right of Biden's 2020 platform. She even went further in several areas. Just because she didn't sell it in the same fiery tone doesn't make her campaign "to the right." That's a vibes-based take, not a policy-based one.
Kamala's 2024 platform was to the right of Biden's 2020 platform on immigration, healthcare, climate, foreign policy, probably education (Biden ran on universal pre-K whereas Kamala just left it to the Democratic Party Platform, and she vaguely ran on student loan forgiveness without the same specificity or focus that Biden did). Abortion she was definitely to the left of Biden's 2020 platform. The economy is an tough one to parse but I'd be willing to consider her platform to the left of Biden's (price gouging ban and first-time homebuyer downpayment assistance are probably enough to tip it in her direction). Overall from a policy perspective her campaign was a fukking joke. Even with the understanding that she had a very short runway to take off, the policy rollout was pathetic. She desperately did not want to run on policy, so on most issues she just stuck to criticizing Trump's dogshyt plan instead of actually proposing her own plan. The campaign advisors just had a fundamentally shook, reactive mindset in a way that the Biden 2020 campaign did not.

Buzz City, NC :blessed:
Well there is almost an immediate like for like comparison on his policies with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu.....61 percent approval rating.Zohran Mamdani cites her as an inspiration on how he wants to run the city
Why doesn’t Michelle Wu bring out the ire of the democratic establishment but Zohran does? :jbhmm:
