2025 Vikings QB situation is…interesting. Is a Herbert trade probable?

Justin Herbert may be overrated by the fans and media but he is still a top 10 QB. Why would the Chargers make a problem where there really isn't.

The 2024 season was always going to be a transition year for the chargers and they made the playoffs and played their division nemesis really close both games.

Also if the Vikings didn't believe in JJ they could have signed Sam Darnold for a fraction of the price.

Not without unloading Herbert first. I'd be willing to bet the house that if Harbaugh could get multiple picks (including Minny 1st) and JJ in return for Herbert, then it would be a done deal. Harbaugh LOVES JJ.

He'd be able to unload that Herbert contract AND get a QB still on his rookie scale?

Bruh. Guaranteed.

I think it would actually be helpful to both teams too. Kinda weird.
thats a huge risk on his end, theres no gurantee jj is going to be a good nfl qb, if he doesnt pan out harbaugh is probably getting fired in 3 years

herbert drives you crazy but at least you know the talent is there

If Harbaugh thinks JJ can be successful, and can win with him.. I think he makes this move. As for why? Well.. cap relief, familiarity with JJ's tendencies and extra draft capital, to build that Charger team how he wants. :yeshrug:

Darnold :hula: Herbert ??

Which would you rather have?

I mean.. you aint wrong here at all. Like I mentioned in the post above, I think it boils down to familiarity with JJ, and more importantly cap relief/additional draft capital.

Harbaugh doesn't really move like that. He's clearly trying to re-develop Herbert by stripping down the offense and building him back up. The man saved Alex Smith, he can fix Herbert.

You could be right :yeshrug:

But Smith wasn't making 60 Million per.

Maybe last offseason before the draft could have seen it, but the Chargers have kind of clean up their cap space situation and Herbert's salary over time (as the cap keeps going up) is not bad for a QB around the top 10

They weren't gonna draft a QB with Herbert already there. That would've been silly
If he really wanted him he could of after hyping him up so much before the draft, funniest moment of the draft

All that talk and he went elsewhere

I don’t think herbert will get harbaugh a title
If this trade can be done and the chargers get 1st round picks on top of Mccarthy it’s worth it
Agreed. Clocks ticking on Herbert. 6 years an hes accomplished 0. Harbaugh not gonn put up with that much longer, like when he cut bait with Alex Smith and went with Kaepernick instead
