See this is where I disagree with you, you pointing to one specific election cycle year to say democrats did their job and blaming low propensity voters for not coming through. What about 2014 15 16 etc, democrats should be on the attack monthly daily demonizing republicans as the insane corrupt heretics that they're. Every single "im concerned" vote Susan Collins does should be blasted throughout the airwaves on a consistentbasis,; democrats are way too nice and more concerned with upsetting potential voters instead of consistently throwing ALL republicans under the bus. Yes you're correct, they have demonized trump and not all republicans, dems hold republicans separately from trump. Kamala even went on a whole campaign to court republicans

She was trying to court anti-Trump Republicans. The only problem is that those Republicans are small in number.

Elections are about trying to appeal to the broadest coalition possible. It just didn't work out last year.
