When are the special elections to replace the house members Trump appointed?

Am I misunderstanding this? I don't think House members (as opposed to Senators) are ever appointed, even when there is an unforeseen vacancy.

Trump filled his cabinet with House members so their seats are vacant and need to be filled by an election.
