Nah I don't think I believe this poll at all after a decade of observing Trump supporters
I don't care what anybody says, at least 90% of them would make an excuse to vote for Trump again if the election was next week.

Trump was simply something different, a reform hope for many voters. He does have cultists, but those cultists aren’t why he won. People have genuinely been struggling as the country erodes, and they looked at the guy who threw everyone under the bus as a possible way out. It makes sense when you break it down like that. Plus, Democrats are too in love with donors and corporations, so they’re always on the back foot and end up sounding mush‑mouthed when defending anything. We keep blaming the Democrats for being in love with donors and corporations when the general public (especially their base) makes it clear that they are in love with donors and corporations. Why? We love big business in this country. We love rich people in this country. We love people who put their money to work for what we think is good. We give them platforms to speak to us about what they think and how they live. We want to work for them. We want to use their products. We have Stan wars. We want to believe in them. Yet…..
The country eroding has more to do with local and state elections than federal. It doesn’t make sense. We have an 90% incumbency rate in state legislatures. We treat local elections like popularity contests. We have people who don’t vote in their own local elections trying to influence other cities’ elections. We have school board elections that don’t get the same number of votes as students in the district. Yet……
What do you defend and what do you fight against when you’re a big tent party? Let’s piss somebody off and lose them? Then blame them for taking a side? Then call losers. But we can’t even get people to take a side against all the things we say as a society we are against? More people voted against Doug Jones in his second senate election than the entire vote total of both candidates in his first. AGAINST A CHILD PREDATOR. People expect Democrats to make every effort to appeal to what say they stand for, when the truth is most people are performative. Then when the party is performative, they complain. When they are serious, it’s not enough or it’s “not like that”. Yet…..
Trump said anything to appeal to anyone except when he didn’t. He meant every word he said until he didn’t. He’s both the problem and symptom presenting himself as the solution. Yes, he has cultists. He also has a group of Americans who will choose him over any woman, non-white, non-Protestant, or with (D) behind their name. You forget there were people who wouldn’t vote for Biden because he is Catholic, choked down JD Vance’s VP nomination, and now spill anti-Catholic rhetoric because of their spat with the Pope. Same with being anti-semantic. Same with being racist. But let’s blame HIS rhetoric. Not the unkept promises. Not Project 2025. Not the incompetent administration. Yet……
If I’m able to be stuck between two sides and one isn’t everything I want it to be and the other side is anything I want to make it….. I’m choosing the latter every single time. And then when it goes wrong I don’t have to hold myself accountable. I can be mad over “basket of deplorables” but say I’m not one, then in the same breath be upset over you listening to the polling and crafting policy points based on my concerns and telling you that you’ll never get my vote. Yet….
Stop blaming the Democrats because you don’t want to hold republicans, the media, corporations, or voters accountable for their actions. I know I sound like a Dem apologist, but here we are….. giving cover to people who just made an honest mistake in judgment. Right?

I agree with most of your post, but this point is what I always say. Americans vote in the interest of the top 10% of wealth and earners. That includes Blue MAGA, MAGA, Never Trumpers, Progressives, etc. We all vote against our interests unless we in that top 10%. I am unsure of how to bring about a solution, but I know that blindly stanning party affliation is low voter intelligence. We all on this forum, in this thread, are guilty of that.

Yeah, I don’t think that’s true. I think the love of corporations ,at least from the uneducated population comes from being conditioned to blame political parties for the erosion of the country instead of blaming the corporations themselves. Republicans have hit Democrats, rightly so, for neoliberal policies like NAFTA, and Democrats never reframed it to show that corporations were the ones abandoning inner cities and rural areas. Steel, coal, factories etc all of it left the North for the South or Mexico, and Democrats refused to call out corporate greed because, at the end of the day, they’re in love with their donors. Same thing with pensions. If Democrats actually ran on corporations eliminating pensions and how that gutted the middle class, low information voters would understand that predatory corporations are the ones they should be blaming for their decline in wealth. Instead, Democrats let Republicans frame everything as bad tax policy because they don’t want to upset donors.The United States has needed real reform since the 90s, and the Democratic Party refuses to run on that because they don’t want to offend the people funding them. Instead of blaming corporations for stripping trillions from the middle class, raising prices, and cutting programs, they’ve let those same corporations help drive us into $39 trillion of debt. And instead of pushing for tax reform that would actually help cities and states rebuild infrastructure and expand housing, they’ve let special interests dictate everything. Those national decisions helped fuel the population flight in Southern cities, that flight could’ve been eased with housing expansion and real infrastructure investment like high speed rail. Those Bill Clinton era neoliberals gave corporations a pass and opened the door for Republicans to blame Black people, gay people, Hispanics, hunchbacks wnd whoever, for job losses and lack of housing that were caused by corporate decisions in the first place.
