I also would've liked to see a push for Johnathan Majors Magazine Dreams. The fact that he wasn't nominated for anything in this awards season was unfortunate.

that was a 2023 movie that got pulled because he got canceled and finally dumped. it literally premiered at a festival 3 years ago. not even sure it would be eligible if he wasn't cancelled.

Loaded up on the nominations so they can give them a few wins in the minor categories but none in the majors

Coogler should win best director but I'm skeptical.

Theres going to be a massive negative push around this movie getting so many noms.

There is going to be a lot of DEI, Hollywood pandering to Black folks, overrated movie in history, "This years Black Panther", etc takes on twitter/social media the next few years.You can see people pissed already about it right now.

Hope it doesn't overshadow the film in the long run.

Nah Weapons is a genre movie, it was always going to have an up hill climb to be recognized and besides Amy Madigan the film didn’t get into any precursors.

I knew that, but other people who liked the movie thought it had a chance of getting more nominations.

It was an ok movie but nothing about it was awards worthy

On the Big Picture podcast they mentioned that the director/writer, Zach Cregger, is the only director that's filming a movie right now, Resident Evil. So he hasn't been able to do any of the campaigning other guys have been able to do.
