Inaccurate. It has always been acceptable for women to keep their natural body hair. In a lot of countries it still is. The hair removal industry and the media have changed this norm in the West and specifically in America, the same way the cigarette industry changed the norm of women not smoking.

They don't care about your actual preference, it's about making money. This ad in particular is about bullying women into conforming to Veet's idea of beauty.

:russ: Tell me this is a joke.

Shut the fukk up man. God damn it.
There's a female in a country right now being stoned to death for showing her face and these ungrateful, self-entitled c*nts complaining about a god damn commercial. You do have the option of not shaving your legs if you don't want to. So just don't do it.
Stop acting as if this is some systematic plot to destroy women. It's advertisements used to persuade you into believing this is what the opposite sex wants.
Men go thru the same bullshyt advertisements. You preach all that equality shyt just shut the fukk up and deal with it just like men do.

This advert doesn't force anything on anybody. 99% of commercials are stupid and if you take anything said literally you're a fukking idiot.

Why should we just "shut the fukk up and deal with it"?

So women have freedom (since they're not being stoned for their form of dress) therefore they should count their blessings and cover their mouths anyway? What kind of freedom is that? You are heading down that same stoning path if you can't stand the idea of women speaking out against things they find unacceptable.

The point here is that consumers have a voice now. You can speak directly to these companies. It's not just women doing it and it's not just Veet that's being put in its place.

This is about big corporations trying to force consumers (female in this case) to bow down to norms which they are creating to exploit them financially.

It is NOT up to Veet to dictate to us what is acceptable and what isn't. :camby:
You dont plan to shave your legs?

Ew....

Its not. This ad is saying if you have body hair, you are masculine and undesirable. That is bullying.

Because men do.
You want equality deal with persuasive advertisements just like us.

I just watched a commercial with a man standing in the mirror shaving all the hair off his body, then looking in the mirror and says "I'd fukk me". As in. "Now im socially acceptable for women to find me attractive".

I wasn't saying to myself Gilette is trying to systematically destroy manhood. They are trying to trick you into believing this is what the opposite sex wants.

You don't have to toughen up. If something is unacceptable, you speak out against it and stand up to it. Call people out on their BS :tu:

A hair removal company trying to shame women into buying their product isnt something a grown adult should waste their time protesting.
If you don't want to shave your legs, don't. :manny: If you don't wanna buy their product, don't. :manny:
Thats where it should end. This "outrage" or w/e you wanna call it is just petty and a waste of everyones time.
