If I'm not mistaken there was building that collapsed in Miami in June. Also quite a few of bridges that collapsed over the span of 5 years in the great USA.
:jbhmm:

Didn’t a condo in Miami fall recently with over 100 people dying?

The 21 story building in Lagos, Nigeria "has been under construction for the past two years" while the condos in Miami were 21 years old and collapsed due to years of negligence from the ownership group.

only construction workers were in the building so everyone was wearing a helmet.
that helps the odds of survival.
hopefully some of them were able to slide down the side of the building.

21 people died in the Miami condo.
12 of them were 21 years old.
the collapse took 12 seconds.
both happened in the year '21.

Your point?

America has experience building and/or structural collapses.

I found it baffling that the first comment that person made was "third world problem".

There's a big difference between a 21 story building collapsing within 2 years of construction vs a worn 21 year old Condo in which the ownership group failed to make timely/crucial repairs.

America has experience building and/or structural collapses.

And Nigeria has a history & a larger widespread problem of newly/newer constructed buildings collapsing.

"Building collapses are relatively common in Nigeria. A whopping 43 buildings in Nigeria fell in 2019 alone, according to a study from the Building Collapse Prevention Guild,
a Nigerian group."

Nigeria is corrupt as fukk on every level and majority of the people there earn less than 100 dollars a month :heh:

Don’t let these immigrants fool you - they’re the ones with money in the first place.

The article states that it was common…. Not so common in America where the population is 400 million…..

Can you compare Nigerian building codes to American building codes? That could say a lot
