21yr old police officer fired, charged with rape for having sex with woman in exchange for no ticket

It’s kind of like when a 18 year old guy has sex with a 16 year old girl (or w/e) and is labeled a sex offender. Yes, it’s unfair but he knew the laws and decided to try his luck. It doesn’t mean he’s going around raping kids but he’s still a sex offender.

The cop didn’t force her to have sex, it may have even been her idea but he chose to not give her a ticket in exchange for the sex and that fact that he has authority over her makes it “3rd degree” rape. Again, I don’t make these rules, I just know the definition.

No this is completely different than an 18 year old dude having consensual sex with a 16-17 year old girl , that is an actually a stupid law and most states have a law sweetie where its ok to have sex if there are younger than you by 4 years younger, anything past that you are a sex offender by definition... Most states that's not even the law, so what type of example is that.. In the state of Minneosta, I'm 20 years old and I can have consensual sex with 16-18 year olds (not saying that I want too though)

I'm a boss already, and I'm married, so I don't have these problems.

On the latter. I have an interesting story......I know a person falsely accused of rape. He lost his job because of it. the company wouldn't rehire him, even though their own handbook stated he would at most place on administrative leave, so he sued them

Wound up winning a cool 200k for discrimination, and wound up being hired at a competitor company. I know this is an outlier, but gotta be careful with labels.

Exactly and that’s why you should know what could be perceived as rape so you can do your best to avoid it. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m simply putting it in ways for everyone to understand yet I’m being jumped on like I’m the one that reported him.

You're likely being jumped on it because you seem to believe it is by defending and giving examples of the position you're taking.

Fire him as expected for all I care, dumbass shouldn't have been involved in such mess. I don't however like seeing anyone gvien charges that don't fit the crime.
