You keep saying this, but it's never been easier for unskilled workers to find work. There's literally a labor shortage happening with the wage increases. Unskilled workers have never had as many options as they do right now.

You sound ridiculous breh. Maybe 10 years ago it would've sounded good.
just becuse it easy to find a job that pays 15 dollars and hour is not going to make the 1500 dollar rent come down and be affordable not the cost of an entry level house. Do you expect everyone to rent and have roommates until they die? To afford something like that you would have to work 65-70 hours a week to safely afford that type of rent at 15 an hour, and i didnt just pull that number out my ass that's the national average, its probably higher! IMO women joining the workforce diluted the value of labor, that and the loss of the gold standard, but i digress.

My first job was $6.75 in 2002

Don't feel bad

I was a whole nationally recognized gallery 37 Keith haring first gen graphic artist as at minimum get at only 4.25 an hour.

Where they took our art at that wage and sold it to future president's for a complete mint.

In the gallery 36 gift shop.

shyt was highway robbery in kids.

What is crazy is.

They only raised the minimum wage.
to be what you needed in 1993.
to be welfare sufficient in 2024.

We need our reparations.

Nobody can afford these video game loot box prices

they are price gouge'n us with.
in the entire world.
plus, if course here in America.

Who do they think?
is gon a continue to pay lotto grand prize game prices. Who can afford it.
maybe, the one percent and even then.
they are too stoopid.
to allow it from their own businesses too.

Give us our reparations.
So the greed in america can stop.

Everything else is also increased with minimum wage then min wage didn't increase lol

If the cost of living is rising higher than wage by 2-3x times, then an increase in min wage will not be felt by most people
This is correct.

If most of you got a 3% raise, the "raise" was nuked as soon as your rent or property tax went up. Let alone food, electricity, gas, health insurance etc.

Make a big leap this year job wise or find a hobby on the side that you enjoy enough to try your hand at making money with it.

This society is nuts.

Will that even help with inflation? :dead:Everything is still way up and i don't see this year getting any better.
Yes and no, people are going to get let go because there aren't any protections in place to help you keep said job.

Less people with money, potential for prices to go down (this is how the Fed Bank thinks).

Reality is much different as we know.

They are going to work the people they do have to the bone because employers are going to feel like you "owe" them now more than ever.

Some businesses will use the new wage cost to justify charging customers more and the cycle continues.

And of the applicants that apply to that job, the employers will hire the ones that are the most skilled that require the least job training... what are you not understanding about that

For businesses, labor costs are easily the biggest cost. This new minimum wage law just made the most unskilled workers more expensive. But of course ya'll don't care about these people, ya'll love to look good in front of your echo chamber while ya'll wave your pretentious flag
If you can't afford to pay your workers a liveable wage then you should not be in business

I would like to say this as a small business owner, seeing as how people online with regular jobs and think-tanks constantly bring us up as the excuse to keep Americans in poverty.

If u cannot afford to pay your employees a living wage, u need to do the work yourself. If u can't do the work yourself and cannot afford to hire help, you are not capable of running a business and would be better off working for someone else.

Stop grouping us together, stop speaking for those of us who are successful. Some people are failures and so are their ideas.

We need higher minimum wages across the board
Thank you
