This still going? Why is the Coli the only place I read about it?
I hope India finds a way to root out corruption in their system, it really keeps them back and they seem to make quite a lot of progress despite it. I never been to India but I've spent about four months in Nepal, which deals with the same type of corrupt bureaucracy. When applying for a visa extension they dead ass said, you can come back tomorrow to pick it up, or pay 3000 rupees (about 30 euros at the time) for us to stamp it in your passport right now. As a tourist you're like

but I can't imagine the frustration of dealing with that everytime you need something from a government official.
