This is the reason most people who don't like mixing give; if you're dating/marrying out then the person should be above and beyond the average you'd get with your own. As though it were a case of entering new markets to seek what you were unable to find.

That's messed up. You're either the kind of person who cares about ethnicity or you aren't. You can't create a threshold above which it becomes acceptable.
