That’s a zombie definition covers them too. They aren’t in control, the virus is. The virus uses the host as a vehicle to bite/scratch and spread itself to continue surviving. It’s how most movie zombie work outside of the empty husks that are under the control of magic.

It’s like our “zombie” bugs that are under the control of a fungus or invasive wasp larvae. Technically Rabies infected are zombies once they start showing symptoms, it’s using its host’s biological systems to force it to do shyt that spreads rabies.

It’s all just a sensationalist version of the “Zombies” we already have.

The virus sends a person into an extreme state of rage.

When a person is infected they are NOT trying to spread the virus they are trying to brutally beat a non infected person to death.

They still retain their memories. In the second movie the infected father was hunting down his kids. In the first movie the infected soldier breh specifically went after his platoon who had him chained up and IGNORED Cillian Murphy’s character in the process. They even had a shot of another infected soldier looking at himself in a mirror and then getting more angry.

And it’s highkey annoying… like EVERY character. The lil boy in the beginning for letting those things in the room, the lil kid now who has zero survival skills, both his parents, etc.

Not even halfway through though, but so far its interesting but that's it.
