$2k 19 week course on Full Stack Web Development with PHP - Worth taking or not.

This post is a half truth. If you are a breh thinking that a course with minimal projects/no portfolio is going to get you a job then yes your delusional.Unless you’re a CAC/Asian with a network for someone to put you on no way in hell that course is taking you ANYWHERE
Watch all the free and paid courses you want. You will NOT be getting a full stack job web developer job. DO NOT waste your fukking time.
Your best bet is to go to community college and then a 4 year to study CS. That’s only to get your foot in the door. The real secret is networking and applying to hundreds of internships each year of college as a CS major until something sticks.
All that “oh you only need an cert” is BULLSHYT. That might’ve been the case 10 years ago but there is zero slack for you, especially in this economy and especially as a black man trying to enter this space. Most people either got lucky (amazing hiring conditions) or had a network for sometime to put then on.
If you have a good portfolio (GitHub, LinkedIn, Personal Website)
Network in the right places (Twitter, Meetups, School, Discord)
And solid skills (React, SQL/MongoDb, Data Structure and CS knowledge)
Then your going to be able to find Something to get you started. It’s just not going to be the 6 Figure remote job that all of the learn to code people are trying to get. 6 figures and more is attainable but you got to think of it as coming a few years down the road as you learn and get experience to put on your resume.

And pray to god that a miracle associate developer position opens up at a startup or some shyt.
It’s delusional. Stop telling lies. This industry is heavily gatekept by CACS and Asians.
All of those positions you’re talking about are either going to a startup bro or Aditya’s nephew.
You won’t make it past the recruiter screen stages in this new market with udemy courses and a starter portfolio. Leetcode won’t save you either.

Nothing in my post was delusional. I know a few brehs who work in tech, the youngest got a junior dev job when he was 20. It’s absolutely doable and there’s too many examples of Black men and Women that were able to break into the industry.
I really want to know what your experience was like. How long were you studying? Did you attempt to network? Do you know any frameworks or have a portfolio of any kind? If I’m wrong tell me

javascript is what you should learn if you want to be a web developer
also all the info is available online for free.....people pay large amounts of university tuition for the credentials and recruiting connections
a course most likely doesn't have that
however, 2k is not the end of the world so if you have trouble with self learning and staying disciplined, maybe a course is the right thing for you

If you failed the cybersecurity cert exam thing what makes you think you’ll do well in software engineering?
Furthermore no everyone and their mom is not a developer, though the market definitely has been flooded with boot camp grads, they are not taken seriously by most big tech and tier 1 startups

if you're getting in to web development, you need to learn JavaScript ($10 at udemy for a modern course), which is the language for both the frontend, backend or fullstack which is both in one. I say go for Frontend.

You need to showcase your knowledge and understanding of programming languages in interviews just to be considered as a candidate.
You'll be out of 2k and 19 weeks taking that course. Any 19 week course that's worth while would cost more than 2k.
Only the top 1% of students in those bootcamps actually land something.
And you might not even like that shyt. I've taken web development classes.. that shyt is about how much work you put in outside of class.
You gotta either be extremely disciplined and consistent or have a passion for that shyt.
