I haven't looked at my ancestry dna results recently but they update their methodology from time to time, i think i went from 1% Nigerian to 26%, how the hell does shyt like that happen :dwillhuh:

They get more pure blood Igbos, Hausa etc., to test and it refines their results.

The DNA companies have to get more non-mixed Africans to set a more accurate baseline.

A lot white people, even those born in America will be 99%+ white...easy comparisons. Only exceptions are southern white Americans since a lot of them have some African and Native American blood. White southerners usually go back further in America than the average New York Italian or Jew from Chicago.

Most black people born in the New World are mixed with "something", even if it's just 1 or 2%.

Think I may give 23 and Me a chance in the future. Already did Ancestry like a year ago or so.
