So this is how the convo went with the girl at the La Maquinista:

Her: .... Hola
Me: .... Hey what’s sup? (I forgot no one speaks English)
Her: ... (giggles) Tu eres estadounidense?
Me: Si, just flew in. (Use my hands to make an airplane gesture)
Her: your skin (in Spanish) - she was touching my hand & made this gesture below

Me: Telefono (I whip my phone out and make a call gesture)

As of now, I’m using different translators to talk about everything.

France sounds smooth. That’s on my list too.
It’s like as soon as you speak, it’s like they found gold or something.
