Pac was naive it’s ok to say that. It was naive to think a ‘king of NY’ rap title applied to the streets. It was naive to think they would ‘maybe harm Big physically’ and that couldn’t spill into bloodshed

Pac was also vastly overqualified for the streets. He thought in panther, empowerment terms and literally everyone else around him friend and foe were simple street minded cats

Comparing Henchman/Tut/Haitian Jack to Death Row is chess vs checkers.
Jimmy Henchman is not a fly by night wanna be tough guy like Suge. He is a swaggerless cold hearted man of intellect.
Suge had a bunch of simple minded scary dudes around him.

Negotiations are different, among other things.

Henchman's son manages Ice Spice so that family is still eating off the hip-hop game.

Basically. Pac was accustomed to dealing with simpler minded folks who were swayed by his charisma. He got caught up with some sophisticated criminals who had been around better actors than him.

I didn’t say all that :pachaha:

I don’t think Pac was ‘acting’ I think he was genuinely naive. He once said he never thought another black man would harm him

Or if you think about the central park situation he’s barking at Nas thinking he punkin him meanwhile they was surrounded

Remember the context of Pac's run ins with them. He was around them while he was filming a movie. I'm not trying to say Pac was a "fake" dude but more so that they see through his type when the grandstanding begins. They see who he calls when things happen, they know they don't fear those people he's calling.

Agree for the most part. I still think it’s necessary to point out Pac was not like most rappers who will call somebody to do some shyt he wouldn’t. Pac may have called OGs but he was also with the shyts, he bust his gun, etc. He was just…naive. Ended up getting him killed

That's what Thug Lyfe was actually about .

Instead of letting street nikkas stay off to the sidelines while 'black leaders' wagged their finger, he wanted to bring panther principals back to the streets to give them some structure and community oriented focus if even a little bit. The criminal element he grew up around still had some honor and connection to the community, they were more outlaws than thugs. He was organizing gang truces and building with real street nikkas because he felt like that was his way into forming what looked less senseless gang warfare and more like black militias.

A revolutionary without a revolution trying to create one with an idealistic view of what the 'community' was compared to the time of the Panthers.

He had the right idea but he wasn't mature enough to thread that needle yet, lost in the wirlwind.
