I was just thinking that, he performed it at House of Blues and it was recorded after "If I Ruled the World" came out .. could it of been possible he planned to release it on his next album in '97?

2Pac recorded two songs, 'Troublesome 96' & 'Friendz' using samples from Whodini 'Friends'; a song which Nas had sampled for 'If I Ruled The World'. In 'Against All Odds' Tupac addresses Nas saying "you heard my melody". This is debatable, though, as Nas cites Rakim as a primary influence, so 2Pac could very well have been referring to Rakim's song "My Melody" and accusing Nas of copying Rakim's style. Just before this line, in the background of "Against All Odds," you can hear 2Pac saying "nikka sound like Rakim, man!".
