the real story goes more or less like this
- biggie warned pac about jac & dem grimey BK nikkaz
- pac didnt listen still fukk'd with dem winded up catching a rape charge & getting shot up/robbed and alot of other shyt
- pac went to dem nikkaz on biggie told me not to fukkz with yall
- dem nikkaz later on got one of the most known BK stick up kids to get at biggie, dude named killa ben
- KB catches biggie slipping without his crew - puts gats on BIG taken a pinky ring & chain worth over 50stackz
- thereafter KB aka killa ben gets a beep & goes to his normal pay phone in front of his hood to call back the number... he was ambushed

That link also says Biggie ordered the Quad studios shooting if you scroll up and read from the start of the chapter. Dunno how credible that is.
Jack says it was Jimmy, Jimmy says it was Jack. Pac said it was both of them, Puffy and Biggie at different points in time. There's stories of him realizing it wasn't BIG out there too.
Who the fukk knows. At this point it doesn't matter. Pac and BIG are both gone and not coming back.
