2Pac's Biographer: “He wasn’t tough,” “He couldn’t fight”, “didn’t know how to shoot a gun.”

Ya got the names mixed up
I gotta rewatch it cause it's been 20 years or so but, I'm wondering now who those dudes were, if it was like Ryan D and the 5150 cats or just some random Marin unknowns. So many Pac docs in the late 90s I mix a lot of them up or think scenes from one are from another.

nikka this the same year.

David. Please shut the fukk up.

I dont understand why that video where hes talking soft and making flirt eyes with the female hes talking to is always brought up to try and discount his Panther background or his masculinity. It seems to me theres some weird projection going on, I'm convinced some of these guys are either closet gay for a 17 year old 2Pac or they're jealous of how well a dead guy did with the ladies, either way it's pretty fukking weird.

cameron diaz??? :bryan:

i wasnt trying to downplay his poverty in baltimore, just saying that marin city was that much worse for him, imo. iirc there was an interview with jada talking about how raggy his clothes were at the time, i think its the same doc with the random dude in baltimore trying to sell a 'never before heard' pac tape to the crew... pretty sure that shyt was fake, but who knows? :pachaha:
If it's the one I'm thinking of that's Mouse Man, def not fake, I have a bunch of the unreleased stuff from when he was in a group with Mopreme.

What can change a man in image from what he was at 17 to 2 years later
People stopped dressing like Eddie Murphy by 91 :yeshrug:
talking different
You talk the same way when you're flirting with a girl as you do to your boys? :jbhmm:
walking different
He never stood up let alone walked in that video (the only piece of evidence in your prosecution) :martin:
carrying himself completely different?
Thats not life changing you thats a dramatic shift.
Most human beings experience a pretty dramatic shift in how they're perceived from when they're a teenager to when they enter their 20s.

What are you talking about? One was hit in the leg and abdomen and the other in his ass, why do yawl do this?

'Pac never got shot at Quad, he had small bullet sized entry wounds on his torso from being pistol whipped"

Riiiiiggghhhhhtttt.
That was my mistake, someone else corrected me on it in here as well, I completely misremembered what happened.

As I said before, the only Tupac book I respect is the Vibe interviews which I finally bought new.
You get the hardcover or soft? I gotta re-set the book, someone thiefed it from me years ago. The Michael Eric Dyson book was good, Rose That Grew obviously I would recommend and Tupac Shakur Legacy is cool, it has all the replicas of handwritten Pac stuff and the book had heavy involvement from the family. But yeah, if a book has no involvement from shakurs or Cox's I'd leave it alone.
I don't like what this guy said.

He's a sportswriter and sports have nothing to do with art. Or are at least far from art.
Word. I do think basketball can be art in the way dance is art but I get what you're saying.
Chuck D gave this guys book props.
Chuck D wrote an essay about why Pac is still alive. God bless and protect Mista Chuck but...
I only like the Vibe interviews cause it's Tupac's words. And amazing journalists. So good Pac kept requesting the one guy.
Kevin Powell. He was on the first season of MTVs The Real World (which Heather B was as well) he wasn't a lot older than Pac, 4 or 5 years maybe, they had a lot of things in common, both wrote poetry, both thrown into a spotlight where ppl were actively gaslighting and crazy-making them, both outspoken about a myriad of topics but were both really attacked for how they spoke openly about race in Amerikkka, both were raised by single mothers who pushed them to be really well read and informed, theres a reason Pac fukked with Powell so tuff.

I got the soft cover didn't know it came in hardcover. But it's high quality and glossy.

Yes, you're right the journalist is Kevin Powell!

"After a brush with death and the barrage of rumor and innuendo that followed, Tupac said he’d summoned me because “this is my last interview. If I get killed, I want people to get every drop. I want them to have the real story.” - Kevin Powell

While Vibe as a magazine was part of the East coast west coast mess, Kevin is a gem!

I never knew he was part of MTV. Thank you for that, gonna check it out.

Tupac trusted him and their work to me is the best I read so far!

After all these older fake heads with Pac war stories - reading Tupac's interviews with Kevin are beyond diamond.

Those older fall off wack heads are an embarrassment. Trying to get morsels for clout.

I think him & Tupac had a falling out after that interview.Tupac was trying to expose Jimmy Henchmen, Haitian Jack, and some of their associates in that interview.Kevin got cold feet at the last second and changed all their names before the article got published.Pissed Tupac off, but I don't blame Kevin for that.Smart move on his part. You know how Pac was, tho.Ride or die.

And this allowed folks to run with the the narrative that he was scared of them nikkas and he focused on bullying Biggie and Puffy instead
