Shame this collabo never happened like it should've. Interesting he talks about how they can make a difference together. Doesn't quite jive with the majority of Death Row work, where the militant and at times conscious gangsta theme that was prevalent in his pre-jail shyt was few and far between if not downright non-existent.

Collab def shoulda happened, good to see Chuck D reached out,I think highly of Chuck D too as a artist and think he's underated as a emcee....largest influence on probaly both Pac and Cube, can't like either without likin or respectin Chuck....Pac wuz definitly focused in jail but that's typical of many inmates....the problem is in being free and being able to handle your emotions, and resist temptation....people like to say deathrow caused the problems and I'm not sayin its a good enviornment for Pac but he wuz gettin into more shyt before deathrow, sum which wuz his fault sum self defense.......he said himself drugs and alchohol wuz a problem at times for em,so if he ain't get help with that its a good chance he would've still been having issues.

I hear ya breh. I wasn't suggesting that Death Row was to blame as much as I was pointing out that there was obviously, at some point, a shift, whether he was conscious of it or not.

That 50 minute interview he gave in jail proves Pac was at peace with himself and wanted to make some changes.

Shame he only had like 10 months or so to get himself together and regain that focus.

That One Nation album would have brought the west and east together.

I don't think my heart could take a Chuck D/2Pac album.
That's like hearing a Nas/AZ album circa 95-96 with all the cuts by Primo.

:wow:

Hip-hop would have exploded.

:mindblown:

But this was a good find, it sort of encapsulates 2Pacs internal struggle with himself and how sharp and mentally aware he was at that point in life.

you gotta respect pac- for some of the stuff he spoke out against and stood for. at the same time, he was human and complex as we all are. sometimes he probably was held to a different standard cause so many people would look up to him- but he was still young and growing, was only 25.

can't imagine all the pressure he had at that age- and still growing. a big difference how you move at 25, compared to 30.

That One Nation album would been a great asset towards POSITIVITY in Hip Hop. Jimmy Iovine and Interscope wasn't about that shyt at all.

Sum people would say he wuz groomed for it his whole life to handle the pressure, but the grooming coulda been what hurt em and why he couldn't handle it...sumtime going from being under the thumb of drill seargents, having maybe too much structure to then go to having none and then go to the opposite of structure when u get money and fame ends tragic....we see it a lot with entertainers that grow up heavy in the church can't handle the transition of a strict upringing,to the demonic nature of the industry..
