Now I LOVE the subway system in NYC, the best in the country. Hands down. Easy, (once you learn it)fast, and reliable...DC metro is HOR-RI-BLE!!!! Traffic here is one of, if not THE, worst in the nation lol...


but I like it here b/c it's slower than NYC, but faster than many of the southern states...(I used to live in SC for 10 years, so I know first hand) And theres a huge (but declining rapidly it seems lol) African American population here some who have/are done/doing well and some not so much...

NYC has it's benefits and pros as well as DC and they both have their MAJOR cons....just a matter of personal preference

Eh...personally for a 28 year old single professional other than myself it didn't have anything to offer me. It's boring. No diversity. Horrible singles scene. Horrible nightlife. I consider it really close-minded and ignorant on so many levels. There was so much to my reason for moving...that's only some.


I was born and raised out there. I lived there for the majority of my life. I needed a change. I was sick and tired of traveling to other cities, realizing how great it was out in those places, and being so underwhelmed when I came back to Pittsburgh.

I'll admit, I see this city and it makes me sad kind of that Pittsburgh could never be on the level of NY. Especially since I grew up there. It's not perfect, but that's my hometown and I rep that really before I rep NY. I wanted it to be better and to change...but rather than wait or work to make it better I just left.

DC is a hustle town. Not a hustlers town but a hustle town. A lot of people trying to shake you down for every dollar you have. Once you are here for awhile, you learn how to avoid the nonsense. When I first move here, I hated it. Now, I like the DMV but the Metro's prices are just crazy. They cut out all the little deals they used to have to force people to take their crappy deals. I kid you not, going from Franconia to McPearson to Chinatown and back to Franconia and then parking is like 20 dollars. But what's the alternative, if you can't find parking, the parking garage can be 20 dollars. I learned quick to avoid that nonsense.
