you're right, the "nice areas" are usually more white then other races, but when me and my boy going into a restaurant and we the only minorities in the place for a few hours, then walk out the street and see a sea of cacs, it doesn't compare to NYC, SF, LA, Miami...

It's hilarious how misinformed ppl are about NY in here thinking everyone LIVES in manhattan...nah man ppl work there and find cheaper rent in the outer boroughs. I would never want to live in manhattan, there's way more affordable living options...especially if u have a roommate. Oh and you don't really need a car to get anywhere.

Having a room mate and living in a box is not the way to live. Especially in your 30's. Roommates are for college students. NYC is not cool to live in unless you made out of $$$ to enjoy yourself.

C/s the dope areas of Chicago being cac havens, and I also feel dude about being the only black folk at restaurants and bars, especially if you venture further north than river north. The segregation here is wack then you have the same 150 buppies that show up to the same parties, it just gets old. And as a transplant, most people you know don't live in the black neighborhoods so you end up feeling super disconnected from the black community...don't get me wrong, Chicago is cool, but IMO its not seeing DC or NY
