Technically it should’ve been called. Being the star and the obvious fact that he wasn’t hurt when he took the knee worked in tank favor.

Hopefully they run it back before summer’s over with. Somebody’s getting knocked out and I’ll actually pay this time

That's the central issue. Because of who he was in and circumstances, it's a referee that obviously saw that it wasn't due to a punch because the fighter was talking to him.

For all technical purposes he was supposed to get a knockdown call.

You get it but it doesn't make it right.

Lamont's timing tonight was impeccable. He seen everything tank was gonna do in slow motion. The left hook had tank frustrated as hell.

And he already had his right hand placed up long before Tank's left hook was even getting ready to be thrown- he knew exactly what he was going to do before he threw it.

He crowded him too and made body shots a priority. And he never overcommitted when he got aggressive

Lamont mastered the art of punching in between Tank's punches and that's very hard to do with the guy that hits that hard.

It made him hesitate because he timed him perfectly.

The only thing I didn't like what he did was he chased Tank a little bit too much rather than cutting off his angles. I get it was the game plan and it worked very effectively but I just didn't like how he walked in a straight line too many times.

Scorecard could have been wider if he would have took a more tactical approach to angles when cutting Tank off.

Easier said than done

We at Premier Boxing Champions do not make any excuses. We thank Lamont Roach for stepping up to the plate and daring to be great, unlike the other “top” names who fake injuries, get beat to smithereens, or run back to Europe to avoid cashing their lottery ticket.

We are very proud to give another young brother the biggest pay day of his life, especially one from Tank’s regional area (the DMV). Anyone who knows boxing knew this would be a spirited contest.

Tank will be back and sharper than ever. We have already spoken to his hairstylist, and she is already in the process of getting a more organic sheen. Thank you all of our paying supporters for putting money into black business and black boxing, and thank you to the illegal streamers for your interest.

Shakur reflexes and instincts on another level. Roach don’t hit harder than Shakur imo. Roach is a big strong guy at 135 but Shakur bigger and stronger even, faster but with FAR SUPERIOR footwork

This was really important. I don't think I've ever seen a Davis fight where he was pushed around in the clinch as much as Roach pushed him around.

That shyt takes a toll and you could tell by round 9 he wasn't moving around the way he was moving earlier in the fight and his punches lost a lot of snap on them.

At one point Roach Sr told him to keep leaning on him.

You could tell Davis wasn't used to that.

Wait a minute, you're telling me this is how fighters look against Tank when they are not weight drained? :picard::lupe:
