This. Offering prepackaged video and scripts is also a largely commonplace PR practice.

You can also spot 'press release journalism' in print/online media, where journalists will simply reprint a press release verbatim and slap their name on it, rather than writing an original story or report. A good way to know whether or not a story has come from a release is to check if different outlets are all using identical or near identical paragraphs in their copy. If they are, chances are good they copied it from the press release.

Then there's syndication - meaning if one news outlet runs a story, it can be syndicated across all the other new outlets that are part of the same 'network' owned by the parent group.
Should be illegal. I didn't know it existed until this morning...

I'm trying to find the chart wherre it had like 3 companies owing all the tv channels
I know one is National Amusements which is Sumner Redstones (Sumner Murray Rothstein) holding company which owns Viacom, CBS, Showtime, and numerous other entertainment and media outlets. Rubert Murdoch's News Corporation. And Disney is the the other.

For news there's Reuters, AP which serve as the pipelines for the story. Also Network News Service.

There is also Vivendi for music and other media. And The House of Dior that rules fashion and liquor. Diego PLC for liquor.
