3 Months later: Did Uncharted 4 live up to the hype?

Did UC4 live up to the hype?

  • Agreed 10/10 :ohlawd:

  • It was really good with some flaws 8-9/10

  • It was okay.. 6.5/7/10 (safe option for trolls and xbots)

  • Game sucked (PSN playthrough proof needed)

So 3 months has passed since arguably the biggest PS4 exclusive dropped. Did it live up to your expectations?

I said that the game was a 10/10(No this is not the part where I start trashing it and saying it's a bad game)when I first beat it months ago and after having played to chp 17 on crushing and putting some time into MP, I can finally give my final verdict on the SP and current state of the MP.

I still think it's one of the better Uncharted games in the series and I still think it's better than 3 and 1 but overall in terms of fun I think I may have to give UC2 the W there. UC2 was a much funner game overall due to the structure and pacing throughout the game. The game knew when to slow down but it always ramp'd back up.
It starts and stops too much. It wants to be a shooter and it wants to be an exploration/narrative heavy game while not really being on the excellent side for the latter. TLOU got away with the latter because it tied into the gameplay systems so it was imperative that you searched around. In UC4, exploration is rewarding if you're into just looking at stuff and you like the little notes/dialogue prompts and stuff from time to time. If you're not into that then this whole aspect of the game falls flat.

I'd write much more but I'm a bad writer when it comes to expressing my thoughts on certain things. I have it all in my head how I want to say it but I just can't output it the way I want it to sound. I'm sure others can do better.

MP wise it's their best playing MP but worst imo. I love and hate it. I love the feel of the guns and the mechanics but I hate the current map selection, the needless in game store and down system, the removal of pickup power weapons, the lack of modes and as of now no coop which really sucks atm. If they had classic symmetrical maps with tried and true UC2 arena style gameplay options it'd be the GOAT.

I dunno. If I had to give a number score to the SP, i'd give it a 9/10 because no chloe and not enough action.
MP I'd give it a 7/10 currently.

Still haven't even beaten the game yet (not even quite half way, like mission 6 maybe) for a number of reasons that most don't have anything to do with the game itself. Game was good from what I can recall of it, but it didn't quite pull me in as expected, once again, mostly due to reasons unrelated to the game itself (although the beginning was slower paced than I would have liked). I suppose tho that I can say that it not having that pull on its own to make me play it despite all other things is a lil bit telling of the game and a lil bit telling of me and my current gaming mentality right now.
