The courts only go by numbers. If your wife hasn’t worked in 6 years and is primary caretaker of children your screwed. The courts are going to say your wife’s/kids lifestyle cannot change. You still have to support her as if your still her husband and contributing to household.

That’s why equally yoked is important. If you both make money your not going to be forced to support her because she can support herself. Child support won’t be as harsh too and career woman most likely won’t even put you on child support. Also if both people in relationships have college degrees the less likely divorce is.
