What kills me is, Saddam had to go, as did Gaddafi, as did Mubarak, as does now Assad according to US policy and the Israeli lobby. People are suffering more so now than when those dictators were in absolute power. People were better off with a ruthless dictator who had secular leanings than they are now as those same tyrants have been replaced by religious fanatics. George W set this off, and Obama is playing checkers when the game needs someone to play chess. Sh!t is too sad. Admittedly, I was hoping Obama would take a fresher approach to Middle Eastern politics instead of the same ol, same ol. Really he's worse than George W in that regards. To be fair, he inherited a complicated situatio. Still, an argument can be made that his inaction is worse than George W's overreaction. Granted the US public is leary of any more conflict, especially having US troops on the groung. Still, part of what makes a man a leader, includes going against public opinion. Sometimes one has to make a decision based b upon morals rather than public opinion. Otherwise they're more of a balloon flying whichever way the wind blows instead if being a strong leader.
