i think if you enclose the pits and gas concentration builds up it can blow. basically a methane bomb

there's a park that i got to that's got hills built on land fill from many years ago and they have pipes going into the ground in some areas to let the methane escape from underground. when you look at the manhole you can see air escaping and smell the gas faintly. those pits are the same on a smaller scale.

landfills have the same kind of ventilation as well if i'm not mistaken.

A lodge of the Saints John of Jerusalem
Something like this happened at one of the GM plants here. They used to have booth cleaners that would clean the paint booths and the pits under the line. One went down into the pit and was sweeping up the debris which decreased the oxygen levels in the pit and he passed out. His attendant went down to try to rescue him, and he was overcome, then an ERT member that tried to rescue the other two guys was overcome too.

As a parent this is devastating

u think you going to leave your business to your kids when u passed away and something like this happens

Imagine the parents :mjcry:

the parents are probably terribly embarrassed first and foremost.
secondly, i would imagine that they are furious at their deceased
sons for their sloppy behavior. put aside whatever sexual activity
they were most likely engaged in at the time, they should have
had better situational awareness. they were born into this lifestyle,
dying in such a manner is nothing short of humiliating to their parents.
great shame has been brought upon their house this day. no honor...
