You don't need to take anyone off the dribble when your playing next to Magic Fykkin Johnson. Also Bird and Magic are the same height as Durant. All three are listed as 6'9". Durant and Magic look they could possibly be 6'10" they are not 7'. Durant isnt just shooting over them.

ya'll think durant's J is wet right now. Bird shot like that for his ENTIRE career. why we acting like dude didn't average 24ppg, 10 reb, 6 ast, and 2 stl on 50%FG, 38%3pt and 88%FT's for his career???

Durant is pretty much Bird with more athleticism, quickness, and less court awareness and playmaking.

Durant has a much better chance if stopping Bird than vice versa. Bird's strength was in help defense and playing the passing lanes, not one on one defense. It's just a bad matchup. The less people play, the more it becomes about one on one match ups.

As a whole, the younger squad is capable of playing far more stifling defense. They have NO one to stop Lebron from driving to the hoop or even Durant from doing the same.

Turn this into a full court game and add a Pippen plus a decent center, it changed everything because the playmaking abilities of Bird and Magic open up but not like this.

Durant isn't gonna waste time shooting with Bird, he's gonna drive on him all day.

Magic is the GOAT playmaker but one of his biggest strengths was he was able to see the entire court and he was huge compared to most PGs. That advantage is gone against Lebron plus passing ability becomes a lot less important with the less players on the floor and in a half court setting like this.

Durant and Lebron will take Bird and Magic in Isolation all day. It's not even fair. Neither of them were great individual defenders plus you can't cheat off anyone because all three of the younger cats are capable and willing passers who can easily knock down the jumper,

On the opposite side, the young squad will never need to help or anything. They are ALL capable to great individual defenders with Durant being the weakest but still being very quick, very long, and able contest any shot he sees. Lebron and Kobe are legitimate lockdown defenders when the buckle down whereas only Jordan is capable of that on the other squad.
