What Knight the university the state did to Neil and the student reporter and professor was just plain evil. Neil was the player everyone in that state loves to have and they turned on him and his father all because a bully past his prime said so.

The university and town enabled Knight in every way like nobody ever questioned why 3 McDonald's All Americans transferred in 2 seasons especially Neil. Their narrative they picked up from Knight was these players weren't tough but Neil was out there balling every game with a separated shoulder.

Sad but predictable cac college sports fan behavior.

I watched this 30 for 30 and it really hit home for me. Bobby Knight was a true piece of shyt and it reminded me of my high school coach who idolized Knight. Legit almost ruined my love for basketball. It's crazy what you accept when you're a kid and you just assume a grown up knows what they're talking about.

Back then if you had 3 All American recruits teams usually made a deep run if not a championship and if you where successful other All Americans may want to go there. Nobody said hey Bobby your attitude is killing your own program. The bully had all the power but he wasn't the boss.

It ended bad for Knight but in the 80’s kids in the chicago area wanted to get recruited by Knight because he took care of players outside of basketball.
