Exactly what I was going to say. She might've been diagnosed earlier if the test was done sooner but without alarming symptoms that made admission necessary, she would've been asked to self-isolate at home.

the u.s. got caught with our pants down. Limited tests,not enough supplies, a large number of covid 19 patients, AND to add on medical racism against black people

if you've got symptoms of covid 19 as a black person in a hot spot you might have to have a family member/friend on call to drive you to the hospital when symptoms suddenly worsen.

they'll send you away to self isolate as long as they can so we need to prepare for that. if you think you've got it show up to testing as fast as you can and in some places it's free and come first-first served. that way you have a form of proof so they might accept you sooner otherwise
