Blazers had him and didn't know how to use him. I had no idea he was as good as he was, to me he was just a backup guard with a nice shot.

I doubt Portland knew how good he was either. They were set in their starting backcourt with Drexler & Porter, with veteran Ainge still a solid bench player.

The Blazers had bad luck in not being able to get Sabonis. The Soviets ran Sabonis to the ground, just like China ran Yao to the ground.

Portland should have had at least one post-Walton title. In the late 80s/early 90s, or in 2000.

Back then Euros had a stigma for being soft but he dispelled that stereotype.

I just read how he died and remembered he was in a car accident but I didn't realize his car slammed going 110mph into a stopped semi.
