2001 Ford Contour - I got it used from a newspaper ad. Paid $4000 but my parents went half and half with me.

transmission, engine, battery gave out... you name a problem it had it after a month of driving it.

this is why i don't like cars that much. you will never know if your car broke down and you'll have to spend more.
since i live in NYC, i don't really need a car since transporting is convenient for me, however if i'm going to live some where far that requires driving then i need a car.
i'm not a car fan. any advice on which car to buy is good. need one that takes me from point a to point b. in the near future that is.
