if publishers out and said $35 games and you can share with 2 people, i'd be cool with that.

What publisher would be OK with selling new games for $17.50 per person rather than $60? :what:

Not only is it a wishful number...this is MICROSOFT. Their message, presentation, and responses were ALL over the fukking place.

huh? I don't follow. I understand the general anti-M$ rah rah, but what does one thing have to do with the other?

You guys gotta stop with this "coulda been" nonsense when Sony is already doing what you keep hoping MS will. Tomb Raider was $20 a few months after it dropped on PSN and there are always great sales going on. If you want to go all digital, just get a PS4. They have a proven track record with this instead of selling you dreams.

Had a ps3. Their online was crap. I play games online mostly... as a result I'm not interested in that. If I end up getting a ps4... it will be to play single player games.

maybe I should also point out that the publishers really control pricing

Why would you? I don't think $35 is that mark but I think essentially it would allow prices to come down quicker... More sales and some of the lesser games could start off cheaper. I think ultimately this will happen. You can see it with the Forza Betrayal... They are saying you are pretty much going to need online. My guess is they have family share and offer games cheaper. Maybe 5 bucks.

Why would they?
Because they are the ones trying to change the way the consumer buys games, if they are saying, "look, drm is good because it will drive prices down, and to show you this, all our first party games will launch at cheaper prices than retail games" then what they where doing with the console would make more sense..but..

Companies are in the biz of making money, but Microsoft acted like they had the gamers best interest..which they really haven't proved

TYRONE GA!
I think its all in theory. You can't just say hey buy all your games online it will be cheaper... eff walmart and best buy. Cause then where would you buy the system from?

Brick and mortar stores would bury MS if they did that shyt. And that's the last thing they want. And most importantly, publishers wouldn't do it. Taking 42% off MSRP is rediculous.

Taking 10 bucks off and sell it like they do now for PC prices would be more realistic for digital versions.

But even then, you lose millions of console sales by making your system online only. If that's what they wanted to do then... :manny:

But the people and their wallets spoke, so that's why they did a 180.

When you think about the proposed family plan. Day off downloads... etc.... It seemed like they were in it for the players... Piracy is bad because the cost burden gets put on the consumers. If we can stop those pirate dollars and give them back to devs... then they will hopefully make better/cheaper games. In theory I get it. But used games it is. :to:

The big assumption is that, people who pirate games would have bought the games they pirated which isn't always the case.
Plenty of people pirate because they want to pirate and they wouldn't buy the game if they couldn't pirate it.
IT's like me and music, I pirate music but if you think I'm spending my hard earned dollars on some rappers album :pachaha: jokes on you.
The problem with digital is that there is no inventory so there's no incentive to have a sale, it doesn't cost you anything to keep your supply. So unless there's something causing you to drop prices why would you?
For microsoft to make the same amount of money at the 35dollar mark as at the 60 dollar mark they'd have to sell almost double the amount of software..... which most likely isn't going to happen.
There were like 10 million (average of 60 dollars so 600 million gross) total copies of AC3 sold in the world, even if have those folks sold there game back that's still only 15 million people who have played the game (so if they charge 35 dollars that'd be 525 million gross) . Now I know that not all of the AC3 copies sold for 60 dollars but I'm sure plenty of people traded in games to afford AC3 as well which wouldn't have been possible with digital games.

That's why we stay losing... We should have been all for this but boycotted both because we aren't getting 1080p 60fps.

:russ: you're not dumb enough to believe they would lower prices do you? What incentive would the publisher have to drop the price on games? Out the kindness of their heart :usure:?

according to ms hype, they were going to share 60 dollar games with 10 ppl. 6 dollar games :leon:

I know me and my 10 people would own just about every single game between the 10 of us. But then those games we wanted to play online we would get them on our own. I can't speak for everyone but I'm almost certain that if I could buy a share of every single one player game for 6 bucks per... I'd probably have nearly every single one. But my bf4, 2kwhatever, etc... I would buy on my own. Now those are pretty much the one's that are certain buys.

how is that any different from the way sharing used games has always been? unless it's a multiplayer game, i'm usually done after i beat it anyways.
