Kendrick won with two of the most well timed bombs i’ve ever seen in a rap battle. He clearly studied Jay Vs Nas and took after Nas (the winner) instead of Jay. Drake and his writers put up a good fight and contrary to popular belief I think Drake actually took Kendrick seriously. Drake’s problem is that he’s been hella predictable in every rap beef he’s ever been in. His trump card has ALWAYS been using someone else’s woman against them. You can’t do that with an MC of Kendrick’s high skill level and status within the culture. Kendrick wasn’t with some IG thot or video vixen. He wasn’t with a porn star or Onlyfans whore. He was with his childhood sweetheart, who stays out of the limelight. Now we can say instead of insinuating he slept with her that Drake tried something different the domestic violence allegations but Kendrick MASTERFULLY took all the air out of that when he dropped a modern day audio phycological thriller in Meet The Grahams. And THEN he turned around and dropped a club banger in which he doubled down on allegations of Drake being a pedophile. There are literally clubs all around the WORLD right now screaming “CERTIFIED PEDOPHILE!!!” In unison. That same song is also looking to be the first ever diss song to debut at number 1 on the charts.

I’m sorry but if you don’t think Drake in any way lost this battle then your a fool.

Kendrick also was able to tap into Drake’s basic lack of connection to American Black culture (which IS rap culture) and how that lack of understanding led to a calculated and malicious appropriation over the years. The fact that Drake thought he could clown a BLACK MAN FROM COMPTON for trying to “free the slaves” was a severe misstep that further led to the masses on black twitter calling for his downfall. That plus he seemingly has NOBODY in the industry backing him except for a washed up Jay Electronica means that he truly was on his own. Travis Scott ain’t said shyt. Nicki Minaj ain’t said shyt. Lil Wayne ain’t said shyt. Not even PartyNextDoor has sent a “Get Em Drizzy!” Tweet in support. This is because Drake took his appropriation too far and alienated everyone. He fukked Lil Wayne’s girlfriend when Wayne was wasting away in Prison. He hopped on Future’s wave AFTER Future became a superstar and after having previously played him to left for the Tony Montana video. He left Quentin Miller to rot when QM was showing him loyalty to the point where he was getting jumped by Meek Mill in Nike stores. He stunted artist’s careers and tried to turn them into ghostwriters. He tried that very tactic with The Weeknd but the Weeknd was smart enough to bet on himself. He dissed Asap Rocky’s baby mother because she didn’t want to be with him and said he was a weirdo. He texts underaged girls late at night that he misses them and can’t WAIT to see them again (WTF?!!?!) he promoted the notion that American blacks were the main proponents of racism.

The chickens were BOUND to come home to roost at some point and Kendrick was able to become the vessel with which Drake had to face 15 years of metaphorically wearing American Black Face.
This... I couldn't have said this better. As a fan of both, this is objectively written....

Edit- I'll use 'fan' lightly with Drake.. I'll just say I do enjoy his music lol

I’m gonna be honest, i love every song kendrick dropped and im kinda meh on every song drake dropped.

And that not becuase i “hate” drake or “love” Kendrick im just completely bored and exhausted with the type of music drake has been making for the past 6 years and all his diss songs sound like an extension of that.

If there’s anyone that needs to take some time off from music its definitely drake

This Kendrick bot quoted me then had this two other alts like the post :dead:

GTFOH. We all know Kendrick would’ve been handed another Grammy if he did what Drake just did

He doesn’t get brownie points for participating.

He kinda does though, we got a memorable hip hop moment in some dire years thanks to him stepping up.

If it were up to the other ‘big 3’ (:mjlol:) this would have fizzled out with a lame ass apology. All this fake buddy buddy shyt in rap has been its downfall

Yah good point
Kendrick might be the very first rapper to hit with multiple songs having different styles during a rap battle. That shyt was crazy

Kendrick won and largely because of his tactics.

Drake’s Family Matters track was well-done with a video attached and clearly set up to take over the weekend as the nuclear bomb. Most artists would have been KO’d by that track and approach.

For Kendrick to turn around in 30 minutes and drop a song with the same family theme had me like :dahell: . He just killed all the momentum of a song and video that probably took weeks to prepare in less than an hour

I think that caught Drake by surprise and he didn’t really have anything ready.

Kendrick then not only follows up with another diss track but one that is a party banger - something we would have expected from Drake.

Not Like Us is the best diss of the entire beef because it works so well in a social media era that needs something simplified and catchy. Reminiscent of Ether in how it focuses less on facts but more on clowning the opponent and giving the audience bars to participate in.

Family Matters was definitely the best Drake diss out of the whole beef but unfortunately it's just not fukkin with Euphoria, Like That Verse, or Not Like Us. Meet The Grahams was vicious as hell.

Give credit to the pop star though, he didn't tuck his tail like he did with Push and actually got in the mud with him. :manny:

It has been decided. Kendrick is the greatest of this generation and Drake will go back to making hits for a couple years until his inevitable falloff. This was exciting as fukk and definitely what hip hop needed

It's interesting how this Drake/Kendrick battle mirrors the Nas/Jay battle all the way down to Jay calling Nas essentially a fake militant.
