Smart dumb nikka... I have a male HP 3D printer which prints metal, rubber, and glass. A female EPSON that handles plastic and other light materials.

mine charges $0.10 per gram
they print anything off thingiverse
or a small charge if i have a unique design (.stl format)

printed some small things as a test
now i'm currently working on a prototype for a new invention

other option is to join a hackerspace
one place wanted $100/month for full membership
supposedly they could promise me some dedicated hours each month
but the library employee is helpful so i'm going that way (for now)

southern usa - lots of places have 3d printers
at least the desktop versions

in china they can print 750 sq ft houses in 2-3 hours
about $5k each
the technology is still improving
now they're trying to figure out how to print a skyscraper
this one dude is he printed out a castle
don't even need rebar

you can print out a gun
it kind of falls apart after you bust a few shots though
but makes a good "throwaway" piece

and like we were saying on last page, you can manufacture products direct with no middleman
and design prototypes for new inventions at a fraction of previous cost/effort

if i was young man who didn't want t go to college
running your own 3d printer would be very good self-employment

someone printed out a car- that might not be practical
but i'd say health devices and things for old people (like a hoveround)
that shyt is expensive and 3d printing makes it cheaper
you could also cash in by using recycled materials

I'm bout to cop one later this year. I took engineering drawing class where we learned AutoCAD and we had a 3d printer this was almost a decade ago. This shyt is the future give it 5 - 10 more years.
