Thats cool, independents can and will do this but I'm speaking on the higher level because you know they're all about reboots, retreads and this is straight up money for nothing. I really expected it to kick after COVID as a way of getting people back into the habit of buying movie tickets.

Even now it would still sell so there must be a reason they're not doing it as they're in the business of profits.

I said in the other thread how back when we had the movies then a 6 month wait for rental then a few more months for retail sale. That and CD singles would've generated so much change that its quite insane and explains the shift we've seen since digital. The entire circuit is so much quicker now in every respect.

I'm surprised nobody has thought of rerunning old films on the big screen. People would line up to buy tickets if they never got a chance first spin because it hits different when the collective trance state hits as you sit staring transfixed at the false world they build in your head.

I'd like something like that. There are a lot of movies that I was too young to see in theaters that I would pay to see on the big screen now.

The movie theater here in my area does it sometimes, but I’d imagine it’s not their call in whether it cam be done or not.

There used to be a small independent place round the way that did it all the time back in the days and it was really dope. The guy who owned it was a film fanatic so it was mainly a passion project as he'd buy older reels and keep a few a classics per month in rotation.

I thought it was a really cool business idea because it hits different and the fact it was so much smaller and intimate as a niche operation added to the effect.
