Exactly. People killed me talkin bout, "I thought Ant-Man was gonna suck but it was surprisingly good." I mean if that's the bar of a surprisingly good movie, well pornos and pornstars deserve mainstream recognition. I don't know how anybody can sit through 2 hours of a comic book adaption. Still I don't knock it, to each his own. I read comics casually, and can appreciate old school anime.

I am exactly 40 (give or take a few months) and I fux wit comic movies and shows heavy. Stopped collecting actual comicbooks at about 19 but I stay up on the haps on websites and youtube "explain" vids.

There some parallels but SOME grown comic book fans are creepy and take comics wayyyy to serious.

The media one consumes is irrelevant.
