We will be able to give ps4 an honest critique. I'm guessing that it won't live up to the hype. The one thing that xbox has going for it is that its the underdog. Its one thing to be 50% more powerful than the other... The real question is will it look that more powerful. Its going to be interesting.
Sidenote... we gotta stop trying to act like preorders mean something... The reality is that last gen sold 90 Million each... If we are talking about 1/90 of that it doesn't matter.
Most people understand this, so the question turns into why was it ever something to talk about in the first place?
Its a simple answer, and the tactic works on simple people

Acting like preorders is indicative of the overall consumers opinion makes others with no opinion ride with the more popular choice
3cepts will say thats why Xbox360 won or almost won this gen
COD haters will say thats why COD is more popular than other FPS games
Sony proclaimed they was the only console with TRU HD and til this day people think you not getting Tru HD unless its 1080p, something sony promised last gen, which helped trick the masses into thinking the PS3 was more powerful.

That notion is still the more popular belief even tho its repeatedly debunked by developer after developer. And the fact games looked so much better on xbox for years before sony finally caught up

That should tell you. But no, its the Devs, ALL OF THEM ARE LAZY, while first party devs know how to get the extra juice that the lazy 3rd party devs couldn't

(thats what 3cepts would say)
But the reality is sony spent more on there 1st party games than Microsoft or anyone else did.
Gears of War ran M$ 10million, KZ2 ran sony $61 million to make after it was all said and done
If we talking Movies, you know the 61million budget movie is gonna have more eye candy. Thats the ONLY REASON why 1st party sony errrr Killzone and resistance 3 looked so good. But its already established by the fanboys which system is more powerful overall... 50% even!!! Since the games suck, preorders will remain important until they have something else to hype up
