CALI

BU BU BUT THEYRE DOING JOBS
THAT NOBODY WANTS.....

Hyundai plant worker pay varies significantly by role and location, but generally starts around $22-$24 per hour for a production worker, with some roles like Assembler at Hyundai Mobis potentially reaching $31-$32 per hour and maintenance positions often starting higher, such as $30.70/hour at the Hyundai Metaplant in Georgia

This plant isn't open yet, and these people weren't illegal immigrants. They're Hyundai employees from Korea here temporarily to help with construction of a new plant.

This isn't unusual.

You guys do know that most of the people detained were Korean engineers and builder who had experience building factories to Hyundai/Kia manufacturing specs right. Those jobs are not easy to replace and these were people whose salaries were mostly likely being paid by Hyundai directly. This would created a lot of job opportunities for African Americans once complete. Did some of you guys actually read the article?

Whats your thoughts on this, family? I think there's some truth to it.

Any "Black" person who goes so hard for immigrants, gotta be immigrants themselves. Its very tether energy. nikkas be from the Bahamas and shyt, speaking on Black America.
lol oh I see you a Tariq stan. that explains a lot.

I looked into this earlier. Hyundai had already been hiring local Americans for those plants. over 80% of the plant workers are from the Savannah area.

But this ICE raid wasn’t about those jobs, it was about the subs they used for the construction. Thing is some of those roles could’ve definitely been done by local labor (basic stuff like HVAC, flooring, etc.), but a lot were specialized trades most people here in America aren’t trained for.

So what did the ICE raid actually do for black people that you're so happy about? Does it now mean black men in GA get those jobs tomorrow? It just puts a halt on the project, which only hurts future chances for local workers, and now it makes foreign companies think twice about investing billions here. I think I saw the SK president is already pissed about this. Keep up with the MAGA rah rah shyt and be known for being reckless and hostile toward foreign workers. Now that investment and the long term jobs that were supposed go along with it are at risk.

If the goal is to ultimately get more black folks into these roles, the answer isn’t ICE raids. The answer is holding shady subcontractors accountable while investing in training so our own ppl get the skills to take the specialized jobs too. ICE raids don’t help build careers, they just scare off business.

keep tapdancing for ICE though. once they get all the illegals out Trump promises you'll be rich

I'm sure there were probably some illegals that subcontractors hired, but the problem is like everything else this administration does, ICE probably did zero due diligence and just went in guns blazing sweeping up everybody legal or not. these dummies never have a plan after step 1

I'm not saying that there weren't but this is an example of cutting off your nose to spite their face and this was in an area where that factory would have created thousands of jobs by proxy. Just sweeping away everyone.

100. now that town is looking at halted projects, less jobs, and damaging reputation. Asians are BIG on respect in their culture and how business is done. publicly humiliating and detaining foreign nationals (one of your own allies) for the whole world to see is the ultimate form of disrespect.

all this shyt could've been handled behind the scenes respectfully with fines and audits for the subs who hired illegally. business would've continued booming
