u mean he needs to learn to read

only idiots sign contracts 100% without thoroughly reading or at least asking what all is said
did you read your cellphone contract? your leasing contract? did you even read that "terms agreed too" form that was required to create an account for this site? or twitter? or facebook? etc?

smfh he could have prevented this shyt from being more informed but good god you cant help but to feel like he was failed.. i mean his occupation is athlete.. Having a reminder when you are about to opt out of 2 million dollars or 2/3s the money owed to you in contract is just decent.. This is some predatory shyt regardless of if he could have prevented it or not

I agree completely....Could he have taken the time and got a professional to go over the contract him word for word just to be sure of what it all entails?

Absolutely!!!!

However, that is what he PAYS his agent for, and his agent let him down...

That's like me accepting a plea to avoid jail time, but my lawyer fails to tell me that one of the contingencies is that I can't leave the state while I'm on papers

Yeah. I think the NFLPA has it that agents can't take money upfront on contracts if they're paid by percentage and they have to get paid after the player actually earns the money yearly

How many contracts have you signed my dude?
While I don't read TOS contracts or basic checking account contracts in full, I've read every word of employment contracts (albeit they're probably not as long as a sports contract) dude and his agent failed by not understanding the basic points of compensation, thats clearly the most important item to these guys.

None of those are comparable to a multi-million dollar contract for your skills in a league with a notoriously short average career span. :comeon:

With that said, I'm sure Brown understood that there were severe penalties for skipping the workouts and knew the amount......in 2009 when he signed the deal.

His agent's gotta remind him ofimportant implications like that. Soon as the season ended, Brown should've been reminded. Especially since this is a contract year for him.
