4k streaming bit rate from Netflix isn't even bluray level.
This is about 4k bluray discs and it provides more than just higher resolution but much better color and high frame rates

The thirst for knowledge
I think most people miss the point... I personally love digital only media. What you have to understand is ISPs also either hold stake in or either own media companies. Why would they want to stop double dipping. It serves them to slow down the net, make you pay more and cop a "hard" copy.

All im saying is that for the requirements to stream movies in 4k for everyone constantly would have to be astronomical, there can be no interruptions or drop outs or dead zones... Not everyone has fiber internet so the idea of having 4k "Streaming" media is not a great idea right now... They should gradually give people time to catch up require blu-rays to have 4k encoded on the discs so people have the option of watching it.

I said all that already in a previous post... :jawalrus:

You remember those clowns too? :mjlol:

Cats spent hundreds and some even THOUSANDS updating their DVDs to 1080P blu-rays and now some are going to TRIPLE dip to jump to 4K :mjlol:
A lot of current films that were shot in digital are only 2k meaning 1080p is nearly as good as it will get.

35mm, 65mm, and 70mm is where you'll really get the benefit and even then I think studios are going to be very selective since it more lately be very niche.

Studios are already updating their catalog to 4k

if you've seen true 4k you wouldn't say this. go to ur local best buy and see if they have the new sony 4k tv's there which usually have some clips from new movies in 4k. shyt will blow you away.

I literally went back and looked at my TV in disgust after seeing true 4k in action. Its a huge leap forward. IMO its like going from 480p to 1080p. You won't ever wanna watch anything else blow 4k after seeing it in action.
breh i was at best buy earlier and saw the 65 inch curved 4k joint and i legit wanted to jump into a lake after not making my recent tv 4k :dead:

granted the only thing they were playing was some bullshyt loop and the sale price was still like 4299 :heh:

I'm an early adopter, always have been, always will be. But, most of yall don't need 4k unless you're sitting closer than four feet or going bigger than 80 inches. For monitors 4k is very noticeable and 8k is as well. Just as a frame of reference, almost no commercial movie theaters even use 4k yet, they're still on 2k, so do you really think you're gonna see that difference on a 50" from 10 feet away. I can show you charts and all that shyt if you want about how close the human eye has to be to see a noticeable difference. With all that said, Epson just announced a 4k laser projector, which I will be buying, but it's $8,000, and I have 120 inch screen.

can u please stop with this human eye bullshyt. we can all go to out local best buys and see this things in action now. you acting like visual evidence ain't already out there in the world.

imo unless you blind, the difference between native 4k on a 4k tv and 1080p is jarring. only reason i ain't dipped in yet is cause there is practically no native 4k content. once directv gets some 4k channels poppin and these 4k blu rays come out, i'mma cop it.
