No more PAWGs, PLEASE??!!!??
The fact that the two lightweight bouts have the most amount of traffic is making me smile.
Ion think Tank levels above Haney like yall saying. Tank still aint been in a 50/50 fight yet

Yeah I watched the shyt on mute, not on some trying to analyze the fight shyt, but because I can’t fukking stand the commentating. I really do like both fighters despite trolling in the thread earlier and Haney won the majority of the rounds. Simple as that, though Loma of course put up a good fight. Very competitive one. Some people do think he lost and that’s fair like all fights… but A lot of people really just don’t like dude for personal reasons. I got Shakur beating him thoughOnce people watch it back you can see how Haney took this clear these crakkas and the c00ns at ESPN always running with a narrative
AgreedI'm an admitted Loma stan but I gave that one to Haney 7-5. Biased me would have said 6-6 tho
Anyway, first of all, it was a very good fight though there was a tad too much clinching. Many close rounds as well so I don't think there was any robbery myself. It's been said already but this was a similar case of Hagler-Leonard. I scored that one for Hagler so I tended to score this fight for Haney as I value consistent work throughout a round more than isolated peaks.
Haney had the right game plan to keep Loma at bay and prevent his pivot. Constant and good use of the jab and body work that made Loma more tentative. Haney was very good fundamentally and used distance well. Made some mistakes at times that allowed Loma to come back but you can't fight perfectly for 12 rounds. Still, it felt like it was Haney's fight to lose as if he kept his game plan on, he was negating Loma's.
Loma did what he was expected to do but ultimately, he's way past his prime and was always a small 135er. The Fimo fight showed it and that one confirmed it. The mid fight rounds were crucial and it felt he was out of ideas at that point. Only when he accepted to bite on the gumshield like against Teofimo and go on the offensive was when he became dangerous.
Lack of power and a diminished gas tank sealed his fate unfortunately. A younger Loma would have kept pushing in the 11th but he let Haney off the hook by taking his foot off the pedal then. Also, he couldn't really plant his feet on his combos because counters were coming back still so all in all, there was no way for him to damage Haney. He probably fought more conservatively knowing he couldn't keep the pace for 12 rounds.
I think this W doesn't really look good for Haney. He obviously outboxed Loma but to me, it was mostly thanks to his physical advantages. So I don't see how he'll be able to fare well at a higher weight where he won't have those unless he's careful with the matchmaking. He's a great boxer but is not that good defensively to coast of his skills. He's bound to be caught at 140 and man like Rougarou probably licking his chops at the thought of fighting him![]()
People question the 116-112 card because the judge gave haney a round he clearly lost to get that score.
