Yeah, once I thought Mall would knock Benavidez's ass out because he is there to be hit, basically walks into close range square with a basic guard but since then the Montiel fight happened and just somehow feels like neither Mall's or Plant's power will be enough to stop the onslaught.
Plant would probably start well then tire out and stopped

Charlo wouldn't stand in front of him imo, he has a great jab, he would do something similar he did against Derevyanchenko but I don't see him outboxing and outslugging Benavidez for 12, probably gets walked down by the championship rounds.

Benavidez will be beaten when he faces someone high level who can push his shyt in, he couldn't do this volume zombie shyt against a Beterbiev, Bivol or Canelo imo, can't just walk straight through their power.
The top LHW might be too much for him but Canelo's overrated power ain't stopping Benavidez
Canelo doesn't have the consistency or activity to beat Benavidez imo

The funny part is Plant would probably beat him.

Plant is a bum. Definition of an alphabet soup champion.

I definitely don’t think Plant is a bum, may be underrated. I could be wrong tho

Outside of losing to Canelo, which all but two fighters have done, what makes him a bum?

And please don't say, who he's fight because the same could be said for everyone at 160 and 168 not named Jacibs, Canelo, and GGG.

The eye test
Plant is mid
If his name was Caleb Plantizki from Russia he would be labeled a generic EuroCAC on here and nobody would bat an eye

Maybe bum is too strong but he was just another guy with a belt.
I really want to see Canelo vs Benavidez next but at the very least it's time for all of these guys to mix it up at 168. Charlo, Benavidez, Andrade are all undefeated, Canelo has all the belts let's see who comes out on top

Okay... I'll give you mid. I think a little higher of him. I don't think he's elite but he has a great skillset. I think a guy that can slip punches and had a strong jab can give Benavidez some problems.

Gotta take Boo Boo outta the equation for the time being unfortunately. :francis:

Would you call this a statement though? Can a statement be made against Lemieux in 2022 by a fighter who's a 2 times champion already?

There was that odd chance that Lemieux lands a left hook flush and then we will see what happens but it was a fractional chance. Benavidez did what he had to, even quicker than it was expected but idk if I'd call stopping Lemieux now a statement.
When canelo was gonna fight lemiuex 5 years ago people were calling it a trash fight. Today it's a statement win for david:dead:......lemiuex even at his peak was nothing more than a one trick punching bag. So David didn't just beat a washed up fighter, he beat a washed up average fighter.

You still have to give him credit for doing what he was supposed to do and not dragging it out. You gotta demolish guys like this if you really wanna be considered one of the best. And that's what he did. But calling this a statement win is like calling canelo's knockout of rocky fielding a statement win. fukk outta here:mjlol:

David needs a real top tier scalp on his resume. And plant is the perfect guy for that. At this point everybody he's faced has been tailor made for him. Give him somebody who will actually force him to box and make adjustments. Then we can see how deep his skillset really is.

It's no statement win..its a fight happening because Charlo and Canelo are fighting people they shouldn't. Saunders is still fake retired. Plant is doing wack ass tweets and isn't fighting..
