It only matters if the media follows him. It's not rare for 5star recruits to be at HBCUs, or a D2, or JuCo. For whatever the reason that lands them there, it happens. The problem has always been that once they land at these schools, their shine dims.

For this to work, social media has to stay on him until the press does. They're also gonna have to make some noise in the tourney.

It's rare that a blue chip athlete doesn't go to a top D1 program. When he doesn't, he goes to a D1 that he was funneled to by a coach or family member.

D2 or juco? Legal or academic issues, because 5 star rank is a ticket to a full athletic scholarship somewhere.
