He has an FFL license. Also an army vet which helps.

You can try to apply for an FFL but it's almost impossible for a regular civilian to get one.

Apply for a License | Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

It take 10 months just to apply for a supressor for a civilian.
Ok. But on what grounds does one justify needing these weapons? You just have to be an army vet? I would think you would have to be doing some kind of high-end corporate security work or something.

He does security work too. but I agree with you that there really is no need for fully automatic weapons to be available to civilians. It was "supposed" to really be for gun ranges that allow people to be able to try out fully auto weapons.

but people are applying as they're a 'gun store' to get access to these guns, because you have to have an FFL license to sell firearms without going through a FFL transfer.

I'm talking about the gun in the video. Most gun homicides in the black community are done with semi-auto pistols, because the switches are hard to come by and are too expensive for a lot of these broke dudes to get by, which is why a lot of gun homicides are done with cheap garbage like hi-points, and the ATF doesn't play with stuff like that. These are very rare to come by. It's not common.
Switches arent hard to come by or expensive at all. Dudes be ordering em from china now.

there's no justification required at all, this is america lol. there are two main hangups, one is getting a federal firearms license. the atf really doesn't like giving them out to people who aren't in the firearms industry, they used to (called "kitchen table ffls") but don't anymore. the second hangup is that for a lot of the cool stuff you need a demonstration letter from a law enforcement agency saying that you're buying it for them, so it really helps to be friendly with your local yokel klan chapter. edit: i'm pretty sure jaytheshooter went this route cause i looked up the maker of his switch and it looks like a small shop in florida that caters to cops.

keep in mind that this is just for machine guns made after may 1986 (so all glock shyt). for stuff made before then, you need no special licenses to own it, just gotta pay a $200 tax.
