50 stans already lining up the excusesdefine flop for an independent artist
they dont have the same deal... they are both independent in the core ways. but macklemore managed to get massive exposure for his song because he had a marketing deal with in effect a specific major labels marketing dept,... i dont think it was UMG
All you nikkas need toYou forgot the most important part....it's actually a catchy song. You can't just push any song and make it blow up. 50 Cent has ZERO catchy songs right now.

All you nikkas need to
nikka just released like 4 songs and it hasn't been 2 months yet
He needs time for people to adjust to his new music, find the right formula
I don't think nikkas gonna fukk with his music out the gate like thatI don't want to get into an arguement with you cuz I know you are a big fan but what is there to adjust to? He's been making the same music since GRODT. That mini review they did of the album even said it's a 'throw back to GRODT' so what exactly do people have to adjust to?
you comparing macklemore. two different artists, making COMPLETELY two diff music
nobody defined flop yet though. a flop is only on majors. independent artists dont flop cause its a profit being gained
a flop is when something does not living up to expectations...
if 50 as an independent does 5000 interviews, billboards, magazines shoots, radio placements, gets in heavy rotation, and then he doesnt sell much thats a flop major or independent.
usually independent albums cant flop because their is no expectation, the album gets put out, and then if it happens to catch on cool, if not well sucks but you can just put out your next album
the way 50 is going he is using up the remains of his 'fame' capital and some of his own money to try to turn Animal Ambition into a comeback record
really at this point i think 50 has as much buzz as he can get without a popular song, doesnt have to be in the club, or even candyshop... he just needs something that the fans care about... then his antics can turn a bit of interest into widespread exposure. right now, he aint got that song popping yet... maybe it will be one of the next songs he got out there...
50s big fukkup really was he and young buck tried to physically intimidate a really popular southern record pool back in their hey day... in 2014 you NEED these same DJs, and the DJs that came up under them to embrace your music for it to percolate up to get national exposure... and now them same lil 'nobodies' from 2007 aint giving these new 50 joints any time of day...
said it before say it again... 50s problem aint that he dissed rappers, its that he spent a good 4 year period physically and financially bullying a lot of the industry infrastructure folks, now he needs them to give him and even shot... and they like naw...
the same people you see going up, are the same people yous see going down
... and depending who put the money up (TRULY indie acts often use their own money) it's more of an actual loss to the artist than flopping on a major. ..If you flop on a major you may see less money on the back end in royalties and it may make it tougher to put out another album, but the label is the one eating the bulk of the loss there..it's not like you paid for anything outta pocket or you have to pay the label back outta pocket, it just counts against your budget. ..shyt like giant promotional billboards in time square don't all of a sudden become free cause you're indy..somebody is paying for it and it's cutting into profit margin more than when you're on a major. ..ashanti was just on the breakfast club talking bout losing money being independent and trying to get another major dealc00n Ambition is gonna flop![]()
"
Bu bu but 50 got an excellent indie deal! He's such a bossyou know the stans gonna be like "bububu as an independant artist, Curtis does better with 50k first week sales than a mainstream artist with 200k first week sales"
gonna be the same dudes who was laughing at Koch artists alongside 50, just a few years ago![]()
