I remember hearing this shyt back in 99 when I was 12 turning 13 in a few months and instantly became a fan. 
50 never gave a fukk. He fell off though after he got shot and made that come back after getting blacklisted it. But I was and still am happy for him and his success. That's someone who earned his way to the top. Even if you're not a fan of his music, you can't hate on him. Dude is a REAL survivor. You have to respect him like it or not.

I read about this in The Source around 1998, or 1999, and went and got the Power of The Dollar album around the same time. The one that dropped in stores, I still have a copy of, it's an EP. Columbia dropped it after he got shot, with minimal promotion.

That was definitely a moment in time. You just knew that 50 was gonna succeed. He had a lot of rappers uncomfortable. So when GRODT came out, it was right on par with the energy and hype he had before. Dude's a clown now, but he had a dope run in the beginning.
