I remember hearing this shyt back in 99 when I was 12 turning 13 in a few months and instantly became a fan. :russ: 50 never gave a fukk. He fell off though after he got shot and made that come back after getting blacklisted it. But I was and still am happy for him and his success. That's someone who earned his way to the top. Even if you're not a fan of his music, you can't hate on him. Dude is a REAL survivor. You have to respect him like it or not.

Mafia style, tear you a new ass-a-hole

You don't know my name, don't say it, you understand?
Told you before I ain't no motherfukkin' rapper understand?

I dunno If I had ever heard a more clever record in my life at the time......I was rooting for dude real hard..... after he got shot though he became a generic mealy mouth ass nikka, and I didnt understand the hype at all once the mixtapes started
Maino's Rumors kinda comes to mind.

50 also got another one with Ghetto Quran.

I read about this in The Source around 1998, or 1999, and went and got the Power of The Dollar album around the same time. The one that dropped in stores, I still have a copy of, it's an EP. Columbia dropped it after he got shot, with minimal promotion.

it must have dropped around spring 1999, because Jay responded by December 1999.

50's embarrassing now, for the last 15 plus years, but in his time, he was something else.

When this dropped, NYC radio weren't CRAZY!

That was definitely a moment in time. You just knew that 50 was gonna succeed. He had a lot of rappers uncomfortable. So when GRODT came out, it was right on par with the energy and hype he had before. Dude's a clown now, but he had a dope run in the beginning.
